About me
Welcome to my website! My name is Reinhard Wagner, I am 25 years old and live in the beautiful city of Vienna. So much for the temporal and geographical key data.
Do I consider myself important enough that it justifies having my own website? No, but a website allows you to learn more about a person’s background than it would ever be possible through a standardised tabular CV. It is important for me to present not only the basic information about my education and professional experience, but also my attention for design and structure and my technical skills. Therefore, this website is 100% made by me.
Whether you are a professional colleague or just an outgoing person, I am looking forward to hear from you!

Professional Skills
First things first! In ones professional life the qualifications should always have priority. For me, this includes theoretical knowledge, i.e. education, as well as the practical application in the course of work experience. Only both together give an overview of the professional competences of a person.
Education
2021 – 2024
Medical University of Vienna | In October 2021 I started studying medical physics extra occupational which is an ideal complement to my previous education and profession.
2019 – 2021
University of Vienna | In the Master's program I continued my specialisation in nuclear physics that startet in the Bachelor's program. Hereby, I completed the second year of my studies parallel to my part-time employment. The highlights of my studies include an internship at the VERA particle accelerator and lectures at the Atomic Insitute of the Technical University of Vienna. In my master's thesis I dealt with measurement errors in the detection of pulsed ionising radiation in medical applications.
2016 – 2019
University of Vienna | After acquiring the basic mathematical and physical skills, I devoted myself to the love from my youth, nuclear physics. I attented various lectures, seminars and pracitcals courses during the course of which I also wrote my bachelor's thesis.
2015 – 2016
University of Economics Vienna | Although I started my studies with great motivation, I unfortunately was not convinced by the means of economic aquisition of knowledge. Therefore, after completing the StEOP, I decided to change to the Bachelor's Program of Physics.
2006 – 2014
BGRG 8 Albertgasse | In the realgymnasiastic branch that I've chosen, there was a special focus on natural sciences and mathematics. This is why I wrote my Fachbereichsarbeit in physics. I completed the A-levels as well as my senior year with a grade point average of 1.0.
2002 – 2006
Private Primary School St. Elisabeth | My start into the serious side of life startet with attending primary school in Vienna´s 2nd district. According to my mother, I must not have been the biggest fan of school uniforms and homework.
Work Experience
2020 – Now
Seibersdorf Labor GmbH | In March 2020, with the start of the first Corona lockdown, I started my first permanent position as an expert witness for radiation protection while completing my Master's program in physics. My primary tasks include the review of applications of ionising radiation in medicine and technology.
2019 – 2020
Wiener Volkshochschulen | Due to better scheduling, I switched to the Wiener Volkshochschulen in October 2019 as a tutor for mathematics at the program Förderung 2.0.
2019
University of Vienna | Between my Bachelor's and Master's studies I worked as an intern at the Isotope Physics research group for three months in the summer of 2020. My task was the independent development of a calculation algorithm for sample activities.
2018 – 2019
LernQuadrat | Since I still had time capacities besides my studies, I also started working at LernQuadrat in July 2018.
2018
Schülerhilfe | After I had sufficiently settled into the study of physics, I started working as a tutor for mathematics and physics in spring 2018.
2015
Austrian Army | I served my military service as a honorary guardsmen in Vienna. In addition to my representational duties I also received invantry training. I got promoted in June 2015.
2012, 2013, 2016
Billa AG | In June 2012, 2013 and 2016 I improved my pocket money as a holiday intern. This was my first introduction to working life, which I really appreciate in retrospect.
Soft Skills
Just having professional skills is no longer enough these days. To use your full potential, you have to be broadly positioned and flexible with your knowledge. Therefore, you will also find a selection of my soft skills here, i.e. the knowledge and qualifications that go beyond the purely professional.

Free time
Supposedly, someone who enjoys his work should not work a day in his life. But I am of the opinion that a profession, as interesting and meaningful as it may be, cannot replace personal free time. My commitment and my hobbies are very important to me, so you should know about them too.
Honorary
2020 – Now
Austrian Association for Radiation Protection | After joining, I redesigned the website and have been a co-opted member of the board since October 2020. I am also responsible for the maintenance of the association’s website.
2015

2012 – 2013
BGRG 8 Albertgasse | After the relaunch of the school newspaper, I worked as an organisational member, marketing officer, editor and account manager.
Hobbys
The broken flower pots in my parents‘ garage are silent witnesses to my early love of football. Even today, sport is an important balance to everyday life for me, whether as training in the fitness centre, a morning run in the forest or a tennis match with friends.
Cuisine
On Saturday mornings, you can regularly find me shopping at the farmers‘ market. I love to cook and get creative in the process. For a few years now, I have also been into Austrian wines and am always on the lookout for new discoveries. Good food and good drinks with friends or family, that’s all I need.
History
Dealing with history is very important for me. Ever since I realised how much the past shapes the present, I have not been able to get away from it. I am particularly fond of the 20th century and while I consider myself very lucky to live 100 years later, I am still very interested in that time.
